Tracfone Unlimited Plan Straight Talk

Straight Talk Motorola

Straight Talk Motorola

Good news to all Tracfone fans! Tracfone has a new unlimited (well almost unlimited plan) plan that gives you 1000 minutes for get this…$30 bucks a month. The plan is being sold under a new name called Straight Talk. This is an awesome price considering the average cell phone customer uses 700 minutes yet pays over $70. So 1000 minutes for only 30 bucks is awesome. This may be even better than the Boost unlimited plan because it gives you some flexibility if your airtime needs vary from month to month. There are a few drawbacks though, first the phones will initially all be active through Verizon and use CDMA so if you do not have Verizon in your area, then no Straight Talk for you. Initially, the phones were only available at WalMart, but now they are available directly from Straight Talk, so you can be sure the program is available in your area. Initially, there will be 3 CDMA phones offered. Namely, the Motorola W385, Motorola Razr V3A and the LG 200.

    Hello.

    I would like to put a link to your site on my blog roll if you want to do the same for mine. It would be a good way to build up both of our readerships.

    thank you.

    This looks like a hot plan. Having pretty cool phones like a Razr , mobile web and the Verizon network make a really cool prepaid wireless cocktail.
    Not everyone wants to spend $50 a month on Unlimited everything but still want a lot for their money. I’m really surprised Tracfone did this. I think it will sell well.
    It’s not going to take away people from Tracfone or Net10 (Phones cost a lot more. No rollover . Shorter expiration date. No internatonal outcalling. Not for light users.) But will hopefully stand on its own in a different market niche.

    Frankly , I thought they were just gonna drop the price on their Net10 Unlimited plan from almost $80 down to $50. They still can , you know. $80 for unlimited talk/text was a good price last year, but today, it is weak.

    I wish Straight Talk success. Wonder how to become an independent dealer/affiliate?

    @Ike Denvers
    Yes, this plan will do well and it is definitely for a different type of customer than a Tracfone/Net10 customer. I think it is just a pilot program though. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a full unlimited plan from Tracfone before year’s end probably not as cheap but most likely at a price point matching Boost. Hopefully there will be some sort of affiliate program but I doubt there will be any independent dealer programs. Looks like they are just going to sell through Walmart for now.

    I just found your site when I did a search on Straight Talk.

    One thing you should know: even though it’s only available in a limited number of Walmart stores, it’s also sold online on Walmart.com and they ship it thruout the US. No limited areas.

    Just an fyi.

    @UnVar
    Thanks for the info. Yeah, I wrote this a few days before Walmart started offering them on their site.

    The only thing I have found wrong is that you cannot get your local area code or your local prefix as part of your phone number. I live in Ohio and they gave me a 620 area code, our local area code is 740. When I called to inquire about changing my area code so that it isn’t long distance from my home, I was told that I couldn’t do this because I had recieved the only number currently available for the area. ? what are they talking About

    Hello Shelly,

    This happens from time to time, especially during periods of high volume which I imagine they are having now with this new Straight Talk plan. Basically, they have a certain amount of lines for given areas. Once their inventory runs out, they assign the closest available line which may be long distance. You can try calling them back and having them put in a request to reserve a line when one becomes available. They used to do this with their Tracfone brand so not sure if you can do it with Straight Talk. The other option is to wait a week or two, call them back and ask them if they can change the number. Their line inventory changes constantly so they should be able to give you a new number. I highly suggest you try them back before “black friday” since that’s when their busy season starts.

    Usually yes, but they have a policy in place that minutes older than 6 mo. will not transfer. If you are a regular user and turn your minutes over regularly then it’s no big deal. If you are an “emergency only” type user and have accumulated lots of minutes over the years then I suggest you keep your current phone.

    I am really glad that Tracfone came out with the Straight Talk plan. $45 a month for unlimited text and unlimited minutes is really a great deal. You can’t beat it! As an out of state student, I am able to keep my costs down while enjoying long conversations with friends and family back at home. I will continue using this plan throughout my college career and hopefully after I graduate!

    I ABSOLUTELY LOVE STRAIGHT TALK. I have had no problems whatsoever. My Samsung Finesse phone is the greatest and its just unreal that I only spend 45 dollars a month! I used to spend over a hundred dollars and with times like these… any money saving IS fantastic. Straight Talk is wonderful all around. Great service, great function, great price, and great customer service! Couldn’t say enough good things!
