Consumer Reports just rated the HP Pavillion DV5-1235dx 15.4″ laptops one of their best buys for 2009. This laptop features a 15.4″ screen, a core 2 duo T6400 processor, 4GB memory, built in wireless and a 320 GB hard drive. Despite what you have seen in the Mac Vs PC commercials, CR rated this laptops performace right up there with the 13″ MacBook Air. Erogonics, versatility, ease of use were also on par with the much more expensive Macbook. Battery life was also better on the HP Pavilion. About the only spec that does not compare well to the Mac is the weight as the Pavilion weighs about 1 lb more. Perhaps the best spec is the price, with the HP being more than half the price of a Macbook and with coupon code SV2132 from HP, you can save an additional 30 bucks. All in all, this is an excellent bang for your buck for around $700.
